Zane Lowe had a big year of interviews with the likes of Kanye West, Jay Z, and Eminem (which will we recap soon), and he sat down briefly with another rap heavyweight, none other than Pusha T. ‘King Push’ had a successful 2013 with the release of his album My Name Is My Name and has not been shy about promoting it as the Hip-Hop album of the year. While I would not agree with that nor would I agree with Zane who put it in his top 3, the project is certainly worthy of praise and a standout release of 2013.

Pusha touched on topics such as what music from the UK inspires him as well as his stance on working with fellow artists in the studio on collaborations. However, the best part of the conversation came when Zane asked about the potential of the Clipse (Pusha being one half of the duo along with his brother No Malice) reuniting for another album or at least going on tour together. Pusha is open to the idea, but revealed that his brother Malice is not in the hip-hop state of mind to be up for those undertakings. Zane replied that Pusha and Big Boi need to have an intervention with Andre 3000 and Malice to make these Clipse and Outkast reunions happen! Not a bad idea at all because even though I can appreciate Malice focusing on his spiritual/gospel side…who wouldn’t want to hear another Clipse album, especially if Pharrell and Kanye West executive-produce the project, which both of them have expressed interest in.

Take a listen to the interview here.
