Jay Z celebrated his birthday this week and with it we received this project from Brooklyn emcee Skyzoo. Skyzoo has been successful in the NY underground hip-hop scene ever since he released his debut album The Salvation on Duck Down Records. He is known for his dense lyricism and he brings it here on this collaboration EP with producer Antman Wonder.”An Ode to Reasonable Doubt” presents an orchestral remake of Jay Z’s classic debut album with Antman Wonder recreating the original beats, while Skyzoo references Jay Z’s lyrics/subject matter and puts his perspective/twist on them. Overall, it is a solid project that is worth the listen if you are craving an interpretation of Reasonable Doubt, which Jay Z revealed as his best album ever according to a list he released this week.
