The Alchemist is widely heralded as one of the most talented producers in hip-hop today, many proclaiming him to be one of the best of all time. As big of a statement as that is, it is impossible to deny Alc’s work ethic and his unmatched level of output in 2013. The producer released full collaboration albums with the likes of Prodigy, Durag Dynasty, Willie the Kid, and Boldy James all in this calender year! And to cap it off, we are being blessed with the third installment of his Cutting Room Floor compilation projects.

This massive 20 track offering has something for everyone with a jam-packed feature list consisting of Nas, Raekwon, 50 Cent, Kool G Rap, Capone-N-Noreaga, Blu, and many more. While some of these tracks have been floating around the internet prior to this release, the majority of these songs are leftovers that did receive placement on different people’s albums. Nevertheless, tracks such as  “Too Late”, “Problems”, “Perfectionist”, “Iron Biscuits”, “Doo Wop”, and “Mechanic” all prove to be gems on this project. This is a testament to Alchemist as his beats are always top notch and cater to the strengths of the diverse set of artists he works with.

While 2013 was a monster year for Alchemist and it will be next to impossible to match the amount of material he put out this year, we do have his highly anticipated collaboration album with Evidence (under the Step Brothers moniker) titled Lord Steppington to look forward to. That project is scheduled to be released on January 21, 2014 via Rhymesayers Entertainment.

In the meantime, you can stream The Cutting Room Floor 3 below and let us know what you think of the project!
