For the past few months, rumors have been widespread regarding the potential of OutKast reuniting in 2014. We had received many hints that this would be the case and when the folks who run the Coachella Festival tweeted out the 2014 lineup…the prediction proved to be true and our wishes were fulfilled. OutKast will officially be headlining Coachella this year along with the bands Arcade Fire and Muse. While we do not know if OutKast will be performing any new music at Coachella, it certainly is a step in the right direction and increases the potential of that happening.

Although the return of OutKast has naturally stolen all of the attention regarding the festival, Coachella did a good job choosing their other acts as well. More big names who will be performing include Lana Del Rey, HAIM, Lorde, and Disclosure. Electronic music will be represented by Skrillex, Girl Talk, Zedd, and Duck Sauce. Artists such as Nas, Kid Cudi, A$AP Ferg, Flatbush Zombies, and Chance the Rapper will join OutKast in representing the hip-hop genre at the festival.

And if all this news wasn’t enough, East Coast residents were able to celebrate as well with the announcement that OutKast will be headlining the Governors Ball this spring. This will be the group’s first New York appearance in over a decade and although the rest of the Governors Ball lineup has yet to be revealed, this is certainly a good way to kick things off.

While I doubt I will be able to make it to California for what should be an epic Coachella, the Governors Ball show is looking very tempting. Be on the look out for more lineup announcements from them and let us know what you think of the news!
