The countdown to the Grammy’s is on and Kendrick Lamar will be an artist under the spotlight at the award show in a few weeks. Kendrick is nominated in numerous categories such as Best New Artist while his good kid, m.A.A.d city album is up for Album Of The Year and Rap Album Of The Year. In a series of promotional videos, the Grammy’s have teamed up with Pepsi to showcase their Best New Artist nominees and Kendrick was first up. In the brief video, Kendrick describes what his routine is on a daily basis and how he maintains a grounded state of mind as he gets used to his sudden rise to fame.

Even at 2 minutes long, in this clip Kendrick is able to summarize how grateful he is for his success. Fans all over the world have proclaimed Lamar as one of the best hip-hop artists in the game, and it is this support that drives him each and every day. It is clear that Kendrick is 100% dedicated to his craft and it is great to hear that he is still constantly writing/recording. “No sleep, more work, but it’s my passion” are the words Kendrick ended the video with, and this is the unavoidable grind that all artists tend to live by. Finding the balance between being aggressive with your ambition yet maintaining humbleness is not always easy, but so far it seems Kendrick has stayed level-headed and this will only benefit him in the long run.

You can watch the clip below and let us know what you think. We will certainly be rooting for Kendrick at the Grammy’s in a few weeks.
