Ty Dolla $ign is a singer out of California who has been making a lot of noise  lately. We recently reviewed his Beach House EP (which was released earlier this month)  and although it only has seven songs on it, radio-hits like “Paranoid” will surely give Ty Dolla $ign plenty of momentum as 2014 rolls along. With a long standing working relationship with producer DJ Mustard as well as being welcomed in by Wiz Khalifa and the Taylor Gang family, Ty Dolla $ign is making all the right moves business-wise and his music has been up to par. Ty Dolla $ign made an appearance on the Sway In The Morning show recently to promote the Beach House EP and also discussed his musical past as well as what material we can expect from him in the future.

Ty Dolla $ign made it clear in the interview that his melodic delivery is not his only strength as an artist. From using his songwriting abilities with the likes of Chris Brown to being a full-fledged producer who can play nearly any instrument, Ty Dolla $ign’s talents are not limited to any particular niche. Ty reminisced on how growing up in a musical household helped in this respect, and he described how he’s been able to gain prominence in the California rap/R&B scene the past few years. Now that he is a member of Taylor Gang Records, it will be even easier for Ty to gain prime feature spots as he has already done collaborations with big names such as Juicy J, Trey Songz, French Montana, and Young Jeezy.

However, the not-yet released remix from Ty Dolla $ign that has us most excited was revealed in the interview…a collaboration with The Weeknd, who will be lending his vocals on the Beach House EP record “Or Nah”.  That track will be highly anticipated as well as Ty Dolla $ign’s official debut album, which is slated to be released sometime this year. And if Ty is able to continue his strong musical strides and further improve upon his unique artistic qualities, the project should be a special one.Ty Dolla $ign is well on his way to officially blowing up on a mainstream level in 2014 and this interview gets into the background of why that is bound to happen.

You can watch the interview on Sway In The Morning below and let us know what you think! (Disregard the title…The Weeknd will be featured on the “Or Nah” remix…not “Paranoid”)
