There has been much anticipation for Future’s upcoming album Honest due to its multiple delays and even name changes. While Future’s recent song releases have been more R&B influenced, this latest single “Move That Dope” is a posse cut that gets back to Future’s hard-hitting roots. The song title lives up the name as the track features guest appearances from the likes of Pharrell, Pusha T, and Casino who all rap their drug-dealing themed lyrics over a booming bass-heavy beat courtesy of hit-making producer Mike WiLL Made It. This track is set to be included on Honest and Future made a great choice by making this hustling anthem as his next single. This is one you must play at the highest volume to fully appreciate and by the way….Pharrell absolutely KILLS his verse.

While Future is an artist that is hit or miss for many hip-hop fans, “Move That Dope” features the rapper/crooner at his best and recruiting Pusha T, Pharrell, and Casino to bless this track was a fantastic idea. Pusha T has made a career off rapping metaphors about selling drugs and Pharrell has been right by his side as a producer. However, Pharrell takes a break from his unparalleled abilities behind the boards to come through with a monster guest verse as he sounds perfectly at home over this vintage production. Some of Mike WiLL Made It’s most popular beats tend to have a repetitive sound, but “Move That Dope” is anything but generic with its erratic riffs and drum pattern. So while we are still waiting to hear more concrete news about Honest, Future certainly blessed us with this one and it will hold us over until an official release date for the album is announced.
