While many hip-hop fans are still waiting on the miracle of another group Wu-Tang Clan album, it seems that Raekwon is perfectly comfortable in his spot as a solo artist. Regardless of certain reports that say Raekwon is the one Wu Tang member holding up the groups’ project, what is known for sure is that Raekwon has managed to be a well-coveted artist for guest verses the past couple of years and The Chef always manages to cook up something special. One of the most prominent publicized collaborations involving Raekwon was him providing a verse to none other than Jay Z. We never really received an answer as to what happened with that unnamed track, but Raekwon spoke on it in an interview with DJ Whoo Kid and also unveiled some details regarding his upcoming solo album F.I.L.A

Raekwon admitted to DJ Whoo Kid that he has been in the studio with Jay Z and recorded a verse for Hova. However, the fate of the track is unknown besides the fact that Raekwon mentioned that Jay-Z wanted Rae’s partner in crime Ghostface Killah to jump on the song as well. We will pray to the rap gods that this collaboration comes to fruition, but in the meantime we have Raekwon’s next album to look forward to. Raekwon spoke on the project and announced that he is hoping for a release date sometime in early May. Since there have already been multiple delays for F.I.L.A., we hope this estimation proves to be true and in the meantime Raekwon gets in the lab with his Wu Tang brothers to make another group album a reality.

Take a listen to the interview below and let us know what you think!
