Roc Nation R&B singer Elijah Blake has gained prominence in the music industry recently with his high profile guest appearances and using his song writing abilities to ghostwrite on multiple hits. Blake is set to release his debut studio album with producer No I.D. later this year and we now have the first single from the project in “Sing For Me”. The LA Leakers premiered the track over the weekend and it features hip-hip heavy hitters in Rick Ross and The Game. With those two offering guest verses and Blake crooning over the production that features a familiar fan-favorite sample, “Sing For Me” should give Blake more exposure as he gears up for a big 2014.

“Sing For Me” features the same sample that was prominent in Cam’ron’s hit song “Oh Boy”, which was produced by Just Blaze. So while some may say the beat lacks originality due to this, the new drum work and smooth vibes of “Sing For Me” give the song its own identity as Elijah Blake impressively shows off his vocals. As far as the guest appearances on the track, Rick Ross kicks things off with an exceptional verse as he sounds at home over the feel-good record and the Game wraps things up nicely. We’ll be looking forward to more material from Elijah Blake as the year goes on and he should benefit from having veteran producer No I.D. at his side.
