Mastermind season is approaching as Rick Ross’s latest album will be officially released on March 4th. While Ross has already blessed us with lead singles “The Devil Is A Lie” (ft. Jay Z) and “War Ready” (ft. Jeezy), he has elected to feed the streets with another cut off the project to hold us over. The latest release is titled”Nobody”, which is produced by Diddy (who is also executive producing the album) and features none other than French Montana on the hook. While that may not come as a surprise, what is more enlightening is that this track is an ode to the late Notorious B.I.G. as it samples Biggie’s classic line “you’re nobody until somebody kills you”. “Nobody” further elevates the anticipation for Mastermind as the album is setting up to be a heavyweight release of 2014.

While we are waiting for the entirety of Mastermind to come out before we listen to “Nobody”, the track is appearing to be one of the more personal records off of the album. Ross somewhat addresses the shooting he was involved in earlier this year and that must have been a key inspiration for the song. While we could do without a remake of a classic Notorious B.I.G. track, we will hold our final opinion for when Mastermind is released.

Listen to “Nobody” below and let us know what you think!
