Over the course of figuring out our top albums/mixtapes of 2013, one project that just missed the list was Denzel Curry’s independent album Nostalgic 64. The 19 year old Florida rapper proved to be artistically mature beyond his years as his album was a cohesive body of work that featured Curry’s unique sound and style. Denzel has quickly found himself a dedicated fanbase and this latest offering titled “Stadium Starship is a track that is sure to continue the hype. The song is a tribute of sorts to Tiarra Grant, who was shot and killed in Liberty City this past December. If you got a chance to listen to Nostalgic 64 and were a fan, be sure to check out “Stadium Starship” because you will not be disappointed.

Rhyming over hypnotic production and a well-crafted distorted vocal sample from The Pryvmids, the emerging Denzel Curry rhymes about trying to find peace in a world filled with pain and violence. In his attempts to escape reality, Curry continues to prove himself as a distinct emcee with natural talent. “Stadium Starship” is another step in the right direction for the talented Curry and his raw ability is sure to aid him as time goes on. Denzel is currently working on a new double EP titled Three Two Zel/Planet Shrooms and we cannot wait to hear what he has in store.

Listen to “Stadium Starship” below and let us know what you think!
