We had not heard the group name of eMC pop up in quite some time, so the announcement of a new track from these four lyrical horsemen was welcomed news. eMC is a NYC hip-hop quartet consisting of Masta Ace, Punchline, Wordsworth, and Stricklin, who all have seemed to officially reunite after the release of this latest track titled “Spun A Web”. The song tells four separate tales as each emcee uses their storytelling ability on the track that features a well-placed Coldplay sample. Since it has been over an year since eMC has put out new music, “Spun A Web” certainly provides a reason to celebrate as we look forward to more material from the group.

“Spun A Web” is a strong first offering from eMC as the piano-based production from David E Beats proves to be the perfect backdrop for each rapper to tell their individual story. Covering a wide range of lyrical themes, eMC shows their versatility on the track that features a Coldplay sample from their song “Trouble”, a track off their debut album Parachutes. From the eery vocals on the chorus to intricate verses from the eMC group members, “Spun A Web” is a remarkably consistent track that has no real flaws. We can expect an EP from eMC in April, as well a full-length album that is slated to be released later this year. Based off the strength of this freebie track, we’ll definitely be on the look out for more material from the group.
